Time to Embrace Your Fabulosity
#Know-Yourself Time to Embrace Your Fabulosity!đ€© Okay, the holidays are over, the bills are coming due, and the thought of wearing a swimsuit in a few short months is terrifying. No worries. Why? Because we are fabulous! For us itâs âNew Year â New Outlook.â Life Advice Which brings us to our new approach and new direction of setting and achieving goals! With these â5 Minutes of Focused Fabulosityâ (outlined below) we can identify our next steps towards achieving and implementing our goals. All journeys begin at the beginning though, so weâre starting with one of the most essential skills you can learn⊠Todayâs Tip Chunk it out: Break it into digestible bits. We all learned this strategy in kindergarten. Need to pronounce a long word? No problem. For example, AMAZING becomes A â MA â ZING. Easy! The same can be done for our goals. This is how we unravel big goals and challenges and begin acting on them. Thatâs where the desire to make the change comes in. This is especially true if what you want to do is hard, because you will need to be motivated. If youâre unwilling to make even small changes, maybe you should ask yourself if you really want to achieve that goal. Maybe not. Because if itâs important enough, you will find a way! Now the action begins. Find a quiet place. Take a deep breath. For the next 5 minutes (or more if you like) work through the following steps: 5 Minutes of Focused Fabulosity: Todayâs Action 1.Think about yourself and your life. 2. Write down everything you love about yourself and your life.â 3. Donât cheat yourself. Be honest, and admit to yourself everything that makes you uniquely fabulous. 4. Write down what you want to accomplish, and where youâd like to be in 10, 20, 30 years. 5. Sort your goals into categories, clumping items that are related. 6. Identify 1-3 broad, overarching, or long-term goals (the others will end up being action items). 7. Decide how important each is, then pick the one that means the most, the one that â if accomplished â will bring you genuine joy and satisfaction when you successfully accomplish it. 8. Congratulate yourself for achieving step one on your new life journey! Hereâs how my example worked out⊠Iâve always wanted to be an author. While Iâve technically achieved that (with my first book, Itâs Okay Not To Be Fabulous Every Day), my real, overarching, long term goal is to become a âsuccessfulâ author which, to me, means earning a living doing my craft. So, how shall I achieve that? By writing more books. After making my list, and sorting my goals, I had a clear take away: My long-term goal is to publish 5 books in 5 years. So, my goal for 2024 is to publish one book and write another. This goal is not only chunked out, it also adheres to a strategy mentioned in the Happy New Year issue – itâs S.M.A.R.T.: Specific (2 books), Measurable (I have a publishing to-do list and timeline with milestones), Achievable (Iâm already writing one), Relevant (author-related), and Time-bound (one year). Taking the first step lays the foundation for success! Major life changes donât happen all at once, theyâre incremental. Making tiny changes in daily behaviors will inevitably create new and better habits. Understanding what you truly want to achieve and how youâre going to achieve it enables you take the first steps towards finding your path and making the changes you desire become real changes in your life. We start with a tiny habit and work up from there. More on that in the next issue! đCongratulations on taking your first steps!đ Sign Up to my Newsletter to get advice like this directly in your inbox every other week.
